Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a dental procedure in which the dentist applies a tooth-colored resin and hardens it with a special light. This ultimately "bonds" the material to the tooth and improves the overall appearance and strength of teeth. Many times, dental bonding is performed for restorative, aesthetic or orthodontic reasons. Dental sealants are a dental bonding that is used to help prevent cavities on teeth with increased chance of decay due to small fissures or cracks in the tooth surface.
